Meet Our Coach
Coach Brooks
My name is Brooks Sutter, and I am the founder of Northern Valley Wrestling LLC. Wrestling has been a lifelong passion of mine; not just as a sport, but as a way to build disciplines, toughness, and character both on and off the mat.
I've spent years training, competing, and coaching, with a vision to bring high level wrestling opportunities to athletes here in Alaska. My goal is to create one of the toughest wrestling communities in the state, a place where athletes can sharpen their skills, push their limits, and grow in confidence.
At the heart of this vision is my faith in Jesus Christ. I believe that wrestling, like life, is about perseverance, humility, and strength of spirit. My hope is that through this program, athletes not only grow as wrestlers but also as individuals who live with integrity, purpose, and faith.
Outside of wrestling, I'm deeply rooted in the Alaskan lifestyle. Whether it's hunting in the back country, spending time outdoors with my family, or pushing myself through hard training, I believe in living with grit and purpose.
Through Northern Valley Wrestling, I want to help athletes of all ages chase excellence, grow stronger in body and mind, and discover just how far they can go both on the mat and in life.
Meet Our Assistant Coach
Coach Casey
Hi! Coach Casey here and I want to say how grateful I am to be a part of Northern Valley Wrestling LLC.
Faith, family, and grappling/Brazilian Jiujitsu, have shaped so much of my journey, and I truly feel blessed to coach here at Northern Valley Wrestling. I'm honored to work alongside Coach Brooks, whose leadership and passion make this program something special.
My background in Brazilian Jiujitsu and No-Gi Grappling has taken me to national and international competitions competing at a high level, but nothing compares to seeing the young athletes right here in our community discover their confidence and strength on the mat.
Coaching gives me the chance to not only teach technique, but also to instill the same values that Northern Valley Wrestling is built on, and it is a privilege to be coaching the kids in our community - watching them learn resilience, humility, integrity, and so much more.
For me, this sport is more than just technique; it's about building character and creating an environment where kids feel supported both on and off the mat.
